About

Our Story

Autism Northern Territory is a non-for-profit organisation that is the peak body for Autism.

1 in 48 people in the NT are diagnosed with Autism.

Autism NT was established in 2002 by passionate families and professionals as a not-for-profit organisation to provide valuable support, social groups, resources, education, and advocacy for neurodivergent individuals, their families, and professionals.

Autism NT offers understanding and support in a safe non-judgemental environment. Our knowledgeable staff and resource centre provide information to empower and inform, whilst our social groups provide opportunities for neurodivergent individuals to develop their social skills and make friends.

Why We Do It

When an Autism diagnosis is received it is life changing.

A diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder can bring new insights and possibilities for individuals and/or families. They can benefit from the support and resources of others who understand their situation.

Friends and family may need to learn more about autism and how it affects the person and their loved ones. They can also help by staying in touch and making them feel included.

Neurodivergent individuals and their families are strong and flexible. At Autism NT, we provide wrap around support to individuals and their families to provide an efficient support model. Our goal is to support families on their journey.
